Students can visit July Museum free once a week: Information Adviser

A new initiative is being taken to educate students about the history and sacrifices of the July mass uprising. As part of this, school students will be able to visit the July Memorial Museum free of charge once a week, said Prime Minister's Information Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman.

He made the announcement during the weekly press briefing of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at the Secretariat on Tuesday, August 11.

The PM's Information Adviser said, "School students will be given free entry to the July Memorial Museum once a week. In phases, free entry will also be arranged at the National Museum and other museums."

Dr Zahed Ur Rahman said, "There was much talk about the inauguration of the July Memorial Museum. Eventually, those words were proven wrong and the museum was opened. Immediately after the inauguration, some difficulties arose in the museum's management. However, those issues have now been resolved."

He said, "The main reason for the management problem was the excessive pressure of visitors. There is widespread public interest in the July Memorial Museum. As a result, a large number of people flocked there after the inauguration, creating some pressure on the management."

The Information Adviser said, "The museum's management has now been largely streamlined. School students will be regularly taken to the museum through government initiatives to highlight the history of the July mass uprising, the sacrifices made by people during the movement and its significance."
