Students' delegation enters Secretariat with 6 points, drops demand for minister's resignation
A six-member delegation of protesting HSC examinees has entered the Secretariat with six points of demand, abandoning their demand for the resignation of the Minister of Education.
They set off for the Secretariat from in front of the Education Building around 4:45 pm on Wednesday (July 15). Earlier, when they reached in front of the Education Building at around 4pm, the police stopped them. Later, the six representatives were allowed to enter the Secretariat for discussion.
The six-point demands raised by the delegation include - ensuring the opportunity for those who want to re-participate in the exams held in disastrous circumstances; for students who participated in the re-examination, the highest score between the previous and re-examination results should be considered as the final result; giving full marks for incorrect questions in the question paper; giving time for students to mentally prepare in the current unstable situation and arranging for re-examination later; The issue of changing the question paper format without prior announcement should be considered in the evaluation and the strict and misleading behavior of teachers in the name of 'conscious guards' should be stopped during the examination.
Earlier, the students were protesting with three demands including the suspension of the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations, publication of a new schedule and the resignation of the Education Minister. However, the demand for the resignation of the Education Minister was not included in the list of demands of the delegation that went to the secretariat to participate in the discussion.
