A group of university students have submitted a memorandum again to the Vice-Chancellor demanding the speedy publication of the roadmap for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections.

On Sunday (April 6), the students presented a memorandum at the Vice-Chancellor's office. Mosaddiq Ali Ibn Muhammad submitted the memorandum on behalf of the students. Students from different years were present at the time. Since Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan was absent, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha accepted the memorandum.

In the memorandum, the students congratulated the new administration of the university and said that they are optimistic about the initiative to end the dictatorship and restructure the structure of Dhaka University on the basis of morality and pledged to stand by the administration.

They said, "The DUCSU elections are the demand of the hour. It is essential for establishing students' rights, practicing democracy, and creating an educational environment free from party influence. There is no alternative to DUCSU for forming spontaneous student leadership on campus."

The memorandum further mentioned that for a long time, they have been systematically demanding a roadmap for DUCSU elections through memorandums, protests, and discussions with the administration. This time too, the memorandum has been given in that vein.

They warned, "It is very sad that we have to repeatedly protest for rational demands even after the bloodshed in the July coup. If the administration delays this time too, we will have no option but to implement a strict program."

The students expressed hope that the university administration will quickly announce the outline of DUCSU elections, respecting their systematic movement.
