Students to enjoy extended 16–23 days of holidays
Students across Bangladesh are set to receive an extended holiday as educational institutions prepare for closures marking Eid-ul-Azha and the summer break, according to the government’s academic calendar.
Under the announced schedule, classes will effectively end on May 21, before the weekly weekend on May 22–23. The official vacation period for primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and technical institutions will begin on May 24 and continue through June 4.
As June 5 and 6 fall on the weekly weekend, regular academic activities at these institutions are scheduled to resume on June 7. Including weekends, students in the general education stream will enjoy a continuous 16-day break.
Meanwhile, madrasa students are set to receive a longer vacation. Authorities have declared holidays for all madrasa levels—from Dakhil to Kamil—from May 24 to June 11.
Following the weekly holidays, madrasa classes will reopen on June 14, giving madrasa students a total of 23 consecutive days off, including weekends.
