Sudanese Prime Minister meets President in London

Sudanese Prime Minister Dr Kamil Idris has paid a courtesy call on President Mohammed Shahabuddin, who is currently in the United Kingdom.

The informal meeting took place at the lobby of the Hilton Hotel in London on Saturday morning, May 16, according to the president's Private Secretary Md Didarul Alam.

During the meeting, the Sudanese prime minister inquired about the president's health and prayed for his speedy recovery.

Dr Kamil Idris prayed to Allah for the overall well-being of the people of Bangladesh and the good health of the president. President Shahabuddin recalled the longstanding friendly relations between Bangladesh and Sudan and prayed for the peace, well-being and prosperity of the people of Sudan.

The Sudanese prime minister commended the president for his patience and prudent leadership during Bangladesh's recent challenging times. He also recalled with gratitude the important contribution of Bangladeshi peacekeepers in Sudan and wished continued progress and prosperity for Bangladesh.

President Shahabuddin thanked the Sudanese prime minister for his sincerity and good wishes and expressed hope that the existing bilateral relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the future.
