Former Minister Kamrul Islam told the court, "I am suffering from stomach cancer, diabetes, and various other illnesses." He also sought justice in court, as did former Awami League Whip A S M Feroz.

They made these statements during a remand hearing before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Belal Hossain on Wednesday.

Afterward, the court granted a two-day remand for A S M Feroz in the Saidur Rahman murder case from Jatrabari Police Station, part of an anti-discrimination movement. Meanwhile, in the Khalid Hasan Saifullah murder case at Lalbagh Police Station, the court granted a three-day remand for former minister Kamrul Islam.

During the remand hearing, Kamrul Islam said, "I just returned from an 8-day remand in another case. I am 76 years old and a patient of stomach cancer. I also have diabetes, and at my age, I am suffering from various other diseases. The incident took place in an area that is not even part of my constituency. I have no connection to this murder. These are harassment cases."

On the same day, A S M Feroz sought justice in court, saying, "I will speak the truth. I have been an MP since 1979, during Ziaur Rahman's time. I was elected by the people during Ershad's regime as well. On the 5th, I was in my constituency, participating in a football tournament with the DC and SP of the area. If, after Allah, you are the judge, then you will deliver justice. I have no connection to this case. I have been framed for political reasons. The plaintiff has come to court and testified in my favor."
