Supreme Court employee removed for fake certificate, ordered to repay Tk 42 lakh

After allegations of securing a job with a fake educational certificate were proven, former office assistant of the Supreme Court Mohammad Golam Maula has been removed from the job and ordered to return Tk 42,03,901 in salary and allowances. He has been asked to deposit the amount received during his service from 2007 to 2025 into the government treasury within 30 days.

An office order in this regard was issued from the General and Establishment Branch of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court on Sunday, September 20.

The office order stated that Mohammad Golam Maula secured the job of office assistant at the Supreme Court based on a forged educational qualification certificate. A departmental case was filed against him in 2021 over the incident. As the allegation was proven in the case, he was removed from the job on January 21 this year as per the rules.

The order further stated that Golam Maula's job will be considered cancelled from the very beginning. As a result, he was not entitled to any salary or allowances during his service.

According to Supreme Court documents, Golam Maula withdrew a total of Tk 42,03,901 in salary and allowances during his service from January 31, 2007 to December 31, 2025.

He has been directed to return this amount to the government treasury through the automated challan system within the next 30 days.

The departmental case was filed in 2021 after allegations of using a fake certificate were raised against Golam Maula, who joined the Supreme Court as an office assistant in 2007.
