Swearing-in of new cabinet likely within 3–4 days: Cabinet Secretary

The new cabinet is expected to be sworn in within the next three to four days, Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid said.

He made the remarks while speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Saturday (February 14).

According to the Cabinet Secretary, President Mohammad Shahabuddin will administer the oath of office to the new cabinet members in accordance with the Constitution. Around 1,000 local and foreign guests, including distinguished personalities, are expected to be invited to the ceremony.

He also said that following the swearing-in of the newly elected Members of Parliament, a parliamentary party leader will be chosen, after which the President will formally invite the leader to form the government.

The Cabinet Division is fully prepared to organise the swearing-in ceremony, he added.
