Tarique Rahman attends BNP founding anniversary discussion

Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman attended a discussion meeting marking the 48th founding anniversary of the party at the Krishibid Institution in the capital's Khamarbari on Saturday, September 5.

He arrived at the venue around 3:45pm, where party activists and supporters gathered on the streets greeted him with various slogans.

At the start of the programme, the Prime Minister took part in a special prayer seeking forgiveness for the departed souls of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and other deceased leaders and activists of the party.

The discussion meeting was chaired by BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. Other attendees included Standing Committee member and LGRD Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, along with central and metropolitan-level leaders.

The programme had been announced earlier on August 30 by the party's acting secretary general.
