Tarique Rahman completes voter registration formalities

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has completed all formalities to become a registered voter and obtain his National Identity (NID) card.

On Saturday, he visited the Election Training Institute (ETI) building in Agargaon at 1:00pm to provide his fingerprint, iris scan, and biometric information. He then left for his Dhanmondi residence at 1:17pm.

Earlier, NID Wing DG ASM Humayun Kabir had stated that Tarique’s NID would be issued within a day after submission of the data.

Voter registration is mandatory for participation in parliamentary elections, which can be completed in any constituency.

Tarique, who is contesting the upcoming February 12 parliamentary election from Bogura-6, has already collected his nomination papers.

The deadline for nomination submission is December 29.
