Tarique Rahman departs for Sylhet to kick off election campaign

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman left for Sylhet on Wednesday evening ( January 21) to begin his election campaign, party sources confirmed.

He departed from his Gulshan residence for the airport at 6:38pm, according to BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan.

Earlier in the day, BNP political adviser and party spokesperson Mahadi Amin told a press briefing that Tarique Rahman would arrive in Sylhet by air at 8:15pm, visit the Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) shrine later that night, and address an election rally at the Sylhet Alia Madrasa ground the following morning.

Following Sylhet, Rahman is scheduled to hold rallies at Ainpur playground in Sherpur, Moulvibazar Sadar; proposed Upazila field in Shayestaganj of Habiganj; Kuttapara playground in Sarail off Brahmanbaria; Bhairab Stadium in Kishoreganj; areas near Narsingdi municipality; and Gaosiya in Rupganj off Narayanganj.

He will be accompanied by senior party leaders and youth activists including Abdul Kadir Bhuiyan Jewel, Mamun Hasan, Abdul Monaeem Munna, Kazi Rawnakul Islam Shraban, Yasin Ferdous Murad, and Rakibul Islam Rakib, with more veteran leaders joining in subsequent campaign stops.
