Nasiruddin Patwary, chief coordinator of National Citizen Party, NCP, and candidate of the 11-party alliance for Dhaka-8 constituency, has alleged that BNP chairman Tarique Rahman is destroying democracy using Khaleda Zia's name. He made the remarks during election campaigning in Shahbagh area of the capital on January 30. Nasiruddin Patwary said BNP’s promises to introduce family cards and farmer cards are nothing but deception. He also labelled BNP candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency Mirza Abbas as a terrorist and said there would be no compromise with injustice and corruption. He assured voters that he would carry out various development activities for public welfare in his constituency if elected.

জাতীয় নাগরিক পার্টির (এনসিপি) মুখ্য সমন্বয়ক এবং ১১ দলীয় জোটের ঢাকা-৮ আসনের প্রার্থী নাসিরউদ্দিন পাটোয়ারী অভিযোগ করেছেন, বিএনপির চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমান খালেদা জিয়ার নাম ব্যবহার করে গণতন্ত্র ধ্বংস করছেন। বৃহস্পতিবার (৩০ জানুয়ারি) রাজধানীর শাহবাগ এলাকায় নির্বাচনী প্রচারণাকালে তিনি এ অভিযোগ করেন। নাসিরউদ্দিন পাটোয়ারী বলেন, বিএনপির পরিবার কার্ড ও কৃষক কার্ড দেওয়ার প্রতিশ্রুতি জনগণের সঙ্গে প্রতারণা ছাড়া কিছুই নয়। তিনি ঢাকা-৮ আসনে বিএনপির প্রার্থী মির্জা আব্বাসকে ‘সন্ত্রাসী’ আখ্যা দিয়ে বলেন, অবিচার ও দুর্নীতির সঙ্গে কোনো আপস করা হবে না। নির্বাচিত হলে নিজের নির্বাচনী এলাকায় জনকল্যাণমূলক বিভিন্ন উন্নয়ন কর্মকাণ্ড বাস্তবায়নের আশ্বাস দেন এনসিপির এই নেতা।
