BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has invited Shah Muhibullah Babunagari, Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, to attend the new government's oath-taking ceremony as a guest. The invitation was extended over telephone on Monday afternoon, confirmed by BNP's media cell. The new government's oath-taking ceremony will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, at the South Plaza of the National Parliament building. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its allies have secured an absolute majority by winning 212 seats in the parliamentary election. On the other hand, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its allies are set to sit in the opposition benches with 77 seats. Other parties and independent candidates have won the remaining seats.

হেফাজতে ইসলাম বাংলাদেশের আমির শাহ মুহিব্বুল্লাহ বাবুনগরী–কে নতুন সরকারের শপথ অনুষ্ঠানে অতিথি হিসেবে অংশ নেওয়ার আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়েছেন বিএনপির চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমান। সোমবার দুপুরে টেলিফোনে তাকে এ আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হয় বলে বিএনপির মিডিয়া সেল নিশ্চিত করেছে। আগামীকাল মঙ্গলবার জাতীয় সংসদ ভবনের দক্ষিণ প্লাজায় নতুন সরকারের শপথ অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। সংসদ নির্বাচনে বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল (বিএনপি) ও তাদের মিত্ররা ২১২টি আসনে জয়লাভ করে নিরঙ্কুশ সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠতা অর্জন করেছে। অন্যদিকে বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামী ও তাদের মিত্ররা ৭৭টি আসন পেয়ে বিরোধী দলের আসনে বসতে যাচ্ছে। অন্যান্য দল ও স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থীরা বাকি আসনগুলোতে জয়ী হয়েছেন।
