Tarique Rahman is the torchbearer of democracy: Amir Khasru

BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has described Tarique Rahman as the present “torchbearer of democracy.”

Speaking at a memorial event for late BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia at the National Press Club on Wednesday, he said the democratic legacy of Ziaur Rahman, later carried by Khaleda Zia, has now passed to Tarique Rahman.

He urged BNP leaders and activists to maintain discipline and high moral standards, stating that Khaleda Zia never compromised, even at personal cost.
