The body of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia was taken to the Gulshan residence of her son, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. The body was transported from Evercare Hospital in Dhaka shortly before 9:00am in a vehicle draped with the national flag and later arrived at Tarique Rahman’s residence. Family members, relatives, and senior BNP leaders and party activists gathered at the residence to pay their last respects to the former prime minister. Tarique Rahman was seen seated beside his mother’s coffin, reciting verses from the Holy Quran. Tarique Rahman’s daughter, Zaima Rahman, along with other family members, was also present at the time.

বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন ও সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার মরদেহ তার ছেলে বিএনপির ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানের গুলশানের বাসায় নেওয়া হয়েছে। সেখানে পরিবারের সদস্য, আত্মীয়স্বজন এবং দলীয় নেতাকর্মীরা বেগম খালেদা জিয়াকে শেষবারের মতো শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে আসছেন। এ সময় মায়ের কফিনের পাশে বসে পবিত্র কোরআন তেলাওয়াতে মগ্ন থাকতে দেখা যায় তারেক রহমানকে। বুধবার সকাল ৯টার কিছু আগে জাতীয় পতাকায় মোড়ানো একটি গাড়িতে করে ঢাকার এভারকেয়ার হাসপাতাল থেকে খালেদা জিয়ার মরদেহ গুলশানের উদ্দেশে নেওয়া হয়। পরে মরদেহটি তারেক রহমানের বাসায় পৌঁছানো হয়। বাসায় তারেক রহমানের সঙ্গে রয়েছেন তার কন্যা জাইমা রহমানসহ পরিবারের অন্যান্য সদস্যরা। এছাড়া বিএনপির শীর্ষ নেতৃবৃন্দ ও দলীয় নেতাকর্মীরাও সেখানে উপস্থিত থেকে সাবেক এই প্রধানমন্ত্রীর প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করছেন।
