Tarique Rahman pays tribute at National Martyrs’ Memorial

BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar.

He arrived at the memorial at 10:04pm on Friday, December 26, and stayed there for about 30 minutes. Accompanied by party leaders and activists, he offered floral tributes in memory of the fallen heroes.

Ahead of his arrival, a large number of BNP leaders and activists gathered along the Dhaka–Aricha highway, from Nabinagar bus stand to the main gate of the memorial, to welcome him. They chanted slogans and marched with banners and festoons.

Tarique Rahman also signed the visitors’ book at the National Martyrs’ Memorial.

Among those present were BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, former state minister for home affairs Lutfozzaman Babar, BNP central committee assistant family welfare affairs secretary Dr Dewan Mohammad Salauddin Babu, and other senior party leaders.

People from Savar, Ashulia and different parts of the country also gathered at the memorial premises marking Tarique Rahman’s tribute.
