Tarique Rahman to pay courtesy visits to Shafiqur Rahman, Nahid Islam

Following the absolute victory in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will pay courtesy visits tomorrow, February 15, to the residences of Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman and National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam.

Party sources confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday, February 14. Sources said Tarique Rahman will visit Dr Shafiqur Rahman's residence at 7:00 pm on Sunday and Nahid Islam's residence at 8:00 pm.

According to the final election results, BNP has single-handedly won 209 out of 297 seats. Other alliance partners have secured another three seats. As a result, the total number of seats for the BNP-led alliance in the new parliament stands at 212.

It is noteworthy that BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, contesting in a national parliamentary election for the first time, has won from both Dhaka and Bogura constituencies.
