A large crowd of leaders and activists gathered at the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) central office in Naya Paltan on Saturday ahead of the arrival of party chairman Tarique Rahman. Security was heightened in the area from the morning, with barricades set up around the main gate and additional CCTV cameras installed. Law enforcement personnel maintained a vigilant presence, and military personnel were also deployed later in the day. Party sources said BNP members and allied organisations began assembling early to welcome Tarique Rahman. His visit marks a significant party event, similar to his previous appearance at the central office on December 29, which was his first in a long period.

বিএনপির চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমান দলীয় কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয়ে আসবেন—এ খবরে রাজধানীর নয়াপল্টনে নেতাকর্মীদের ভিড় বেড়েছে। শনিবার সকাল থেকেই নয়াপল্টন এলাকায় নিরাপত্তা জোরদার করা হয়েছে। প্রধান ফটকের চারপাশে ব্যারিকেড বসানো হয়েছে এবং অতিরিক্ত সিসিটিভি ক্যামেরা স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। সকাল থেকে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর সদস্যরা সতর্ক অবস্থানে রয়েছেন। পরে দুপুরে সেনাবাহিনীর সদস্যরাও সেখানে দায়িত্ব পালন করতে দেখা যায়। দলীয় সূত্র জানায়, তারেক রহমানের আগমনকে কেন্দ্র করে বিএনপি ও এর অঙ্গ-সহযোগী সংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীরা সকাল থেকেই কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয়ের সামনে জড়ো হতে শুরু করেন। তাকে স্বাগত জানাতে তারা অপেক্ষায় রয়েছেন। এর আগে গত ২৯ ডিসেম্বর দলীয় কার্যালয়ে তারেক রহমানের আগমনের কথা উল্লেখ করা হয়, যা দীর্ঘ সময় পর তার প্রথম উপস্থিতি হিসেবে দলীয়ভাবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ছিল।
