BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said that the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman will return home soon. He said this in response to a question from journalists in front of the party chairperson's political office in Gulshan on Monday night. Earlier, a meeting of the party's highest policy-making forum, the National Standing Committee, was held at the office. Tarique Rahman presided over it virtually from London. Responding to a question regarding the BNP acting chairman's return, Salahuddin Ahmed said: "He will return home soon." He said: "This is our regular meeting. We have had various discussions on various issues, political discussions and election-based discussions, campaigning and strategy determination. No other issues."

বিএনপির স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য সালাহউদ্দিন আহমেদ বলেছেন, দলটির ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমান শিগগিরই দেশে ফিরবেন। সোমবার রাতে রাজধানীর গুলশানে পার্টি চেয়ারপারসনের রাজনৈতিক কার্যালয়ের সামনে সাংবাদিকদের এক প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি এ কথা বলেন। এর আগে রাতে কার্যালয়ে দলের সর্বোচ্চ নীতিনির্ধারণী ফোরাম জাতীয় স্থায়ী কমিটির বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এতে লন্ডন থেকে ভার্চ্যুয়ালি যুক্ত হয়ে সভাপতিত্ব করেন তারেক রহমান। বিএনপির ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যানের দেশে ফেরার প্রসঙ্গে এক প্রশ্নের জবাবে সালাহউদ্দিন আহমেদ বলেন, তিনি শিগগির চলে আসবেন, ইনশাআল্লাহ। তিনি বলেন, এটা আমাদের রেগুলার মিটিং, স্থায়ী কমিটির মিটিং। বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে, রাজনৈতিক আলোচনা এবং নির্বাচন ভিত্তিক বিভিন্ন আলোচনা, প্রচার ও কৌশল নির্ধারণের জন্য বিভিন্ন আলোচনা করেছি। অন্য কোনো বিষয নয়।
