BNP chairperson Tarique Rahman exchanged views with the winners of a reel-making competition on the party’s prospective policy and development initiatives if it returns to state power. He was joined by his daughter, barrister Zaima Rahman.

The programme, titled Meet and Greet with Tarique Rahman, was broadcast live on Saturday, January 24 from Justice Shahabuddin Park in Gulshan, Dhaka. During the session, Tarique Rahman and Zaima Rahman held open and interactive discussions with the young winners on a range of social and state affairs.

At one point, Tarique Rahman asked the participants which sectors BNP should prioritise in the future and what expectations young people have regarding state governance. He said the party aims to integrate youth thinking and innovative ideas into the process of state-building.

BNP sources said Tarique Rahman has already taken part in several policy-oriented initiatives that reflect the hopes and aspirations of the younger generation, drawing positive responses nationwide.

The competition was organised to gather public opinions and proposals on Bangladesh of the future. Participants were asked to create one-minute reels on 11 topics, including the family card and farmer card initiatives. Around 2,500 contestants from different parts of the country took part.

Based on a combined assessment of 30 percent public voting and 70 percent jury evaluation, 10 winners were selected. The winners received the opportunity to meet and exchange views directly with Tarique Rahman and barrister Zaima Rahman.
