Telenor group president meets PM

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Group, Benedicte Schilbred Fasmer, has met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in Dhaka.

The meeting took place at the Cabinet Division office under the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday morning.

According to the Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony, the Prime Minister arrived at the Secretariat around 9:20am, and the meeting with the Telenor chief began at 9:30am as per the pre-scheduled programme.

During the meeting, senior executives of Telenor reportedly discussed the company’s ongoing activities and interest in developing Bangladesh’s telecommunications sector and digital infrastructure.

The Telenor delegation also presented details of their investment plans and future initiatives in the country.

Benedicte Schilbred Fasmer’s visit is considered significant following her recent appointment as CEO of the group, highlighting the company’s continued focus on strengthening digital connectivity in Bangladesh.

Senior officials from relevant ministries were also present at the meeting.
