Thousands gather at BNP's labour rally in Nayapaltan
The BNP's labour rally has begun at Nayapaltan in the capital, with thousands of leaders and activists from Dhaka and surrounding districts participating.
The rally officially started at 2:30 pm on Friday, May 1. Processions began after Jummah prayers.
Leaders and activists were seen wearing red caps and T-shirts, carrying banners and drums. Thousands of activists in red caps filled the area with chants and applause.
BNP Standing Committee member and labour affairs secretary Nazrul Islam Khan said all arrangements have been completed despite adverse weather.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to attend the rally as the chief guest.
"We are expecting a record turnout at this labour rally," Khan said.
