Three more children die with measles symptoms
Three more children have died with measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, while 786 new cases of measles and related symptoms have been reported during the same period.
The information was provided in the health department's regular measles update on Saturday, July 11.
The health department said a total of three deaths with measles symptoms were recorded in the past day, though no deaths were confirmed as measles cases. Since March 15, a total of 753 people have died with measles and measles-like symptoms nationwide.
Meanwhile, 84 new measles cases were confirmed and symptoms were observed in another 702 people in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 1,10,601 people have exhibited measles symptoms, with 13,410 confirmed cases.
According to the health department report, a total of 93,491 people have been hospitalised with measles and related symptoms since March 15. Of them, 89,762 have been discharged after recovery.
