Three more dengue deaths, 512 hospitalised in 24 hours
The dengue situation across the country remains alarming. Three more people have died from the mosquito-borne disease in the last 24 hours, while 512 new patients were admitted to hospitals during the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services' Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room provided the information in a dengue bulletin on Tuesday (July 28).
According to the bulletin, among the newly infected, 85 were from Dhaka North City Corporation, 76 from Dhaka South, 75 from Barishal division, 75 from Chattogram division, 84 from Khulna division, 40 from Dhaka division, 34 from Rajshahi division, 28 from Rangpur division, 13 from Mymensingh division, and one from Sylhet division. Information on one more patient was also recorded.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, a total of 14,156 people have been hospitalised with dengue so far this year. Among them, 13,009 have recovered and returned home.
A total of 47 people have died from dengue so far this year.
