Titumir college students protest again, traffic halted

Students of Government Titumir College staged fresh protests on Monday (September 15), demanding the institution be declared an independent university. Around 12:15 pm, they blocked both sides of the road in front of the college, suspending traffic between Gulshan-1 and Amtali towards Jahangir Gate and Mohakhali, and in the opposite direction. Commuters suffered severe disruption.

The Gulshan Traffic Division said drivers must use alternative routes until the situation normalizes, and several diversions have been set.

Vehicles from Uttara heading to Gulshan-1 via Amtali have been advised to turn left at Kakoli, then use the Gulshan-2 to Gulshan-1 (Police Plaza route).

Traffic from Jahangir Gate/Mohakhali towards Amtali-Gulshan-1 can go straight north, take a U-turn near Banani graveyard (for small vehicles) or Army Stadium (for larger vehicles), and proceed via Gulshan-2.

Vehicles from the north can use the Mohakhali flyover to reach Jahangir Gate, while those from Jahangir Gate can use the flyover to head north. Police have urged drivers to follow the designated routes and avoid the protest area.
