Tk38,728 crore allocated for defense sector

A proposal to allocate Tk38,728 crore for the defense sector has been made in the budget for the fiscal year 2025-26.

In the current fiscal year 2024-25, Tk40,820 crore was allocated for the Ministry of Defense.

In the revised budget, it stands at Tk37,380 crore.

Accordingly, this time the allocation has been prepared to increase slightly.

On Monday, Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed proposed to allocate this amount for the Ministry of Defense while presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2025-26.

On the other hand, an allocation of Tk40,698 crore has been proposed for the Armed Forces Division in the budget for the fiscal year 2025-26.

The revised budget was Tk39,239 crore for this department in the fiscal year 2024-25. In the fiscal year 2024-25, Tk42,14 crore was allocated for the Armed Forces Division.
