Tofail Ahmed still alive but condition critical: Doctor

Tofail Ahmed, senior Awami League leader and former Member of Parliament for Bhola-1, is alive but remains in critical condition, according to Tofail’s son-in-law, Dr. Touhiduzzaman Tuhin of Square Hospital.

"His condition is extremely serious and critical," Dr. Touhiduzzaman said.

However, no official announcement regarding his condition has been made yet.

“His heart is functioning but his condition is deteriorating. However, given the critical state he is in, it is unlikely he can recover,” he said.

Dr. Tuhin added that Tofail Ahmed is still on life support.

Tofail Ahmed, who has been ailing for a long time, was receiving treatment at Square Hospital in Dhaka.

Earlier, on Saturday night, several media outlets, reported Tofail’s death while undergoing treatment.
