Tofail Ahmed's first janaza in Dhanmondi Taqwa mosque, burial on Tuesday
The first janaza of Tofail Ahmed, a key organiser of the 1969 mass uprising and the Liberation War, former minister and senior Awami League leader, will be held at Masjid-ut-Taqwa in Dhanmondi.
Tofail Ahmed passed away while undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in the capital on Monday afternoon, June 1. He was 82.
According to family sources, the body will be taken to Masjid-ut-Taqwa at 12/A in Dhanmondi, where the first janaza will be held after Maghrib prayers. If all goes as planned, he will be buried in his home district Bhola on Tuesday after another janaza.
The veteran politician had been suffering from various health complications, including paralysis, for a long time. He was admitted to Square Hospital on September 28 in critical condition and had been on life support.
