Top leftist leaders meet Tarique Rahman

Senior leaders of left-wing political parties have met BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. The meeting took place at the BNP’s Gulshan office at around 11:30am on Monday, January 5.

Earlier, the leaders signed the condolence book opened in memory of former BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was also present at the time.

Those present at the meeting included former Communist Party of Bangladesh president Mujahidul Islam Selim, current general secretary Abdullah Al Kafi Ratan, Socialist Party of Bangladesh general secretary Bazlur Rashid Firoz, presidium member Rajequzzaman Ratan, Socialist Party of Bangladesh Marxist coordinator Masud Rana, Bangladesh National Socialist Party general secretary Nazmul Haque Prodhan, standing committee member Dr Mushtaq Hossain, Iqbal Kabir Zahid, Professor Abdus Sattar, Mosharrafa Mishu and Abdul Ali, among others.

During the meeting, leaders of the Left Democratic Alliance expressed condolences to Tarique Rahman over the death of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia. They also discussed the country’s overall political situation. Tarique Rahman exchanged greetings with the leaders and inquired about their well-being.
