Total 91 bills passed in ongoing session

A total of 24 bills, including the 'July Uprising Memorial Museum Bill, 2026', 'July Uprising Martyrs' Families and July Fighters' Welfare and Rehabilitation Bill, 2026' and 'Bank Resolution Bill, 2026', were passed in the National Parliament to convert the ordinances issued by the interim government into laws on Friday. Of these, 10 bills were passed in the morning session.

Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram said that a total of 91 bills have been passed in the current session so far, including the 24 passed today.

There was no discussion on the bills raised in the morning meeting of the 13th day of the first session of the 13th National Parliament as there were no item-wise amendment proposals. When the bills were raised by the concerned ministers, they were passed unanimously. Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed presided over the session.

Out of the total 133 ordinances issued during the interim period, the special committee of the parliament recommended passing 98 unchanged and 15 with amendments. Out of the remaining 20, 4 were recommended to be repealed and 16 were recommended to be strengthened and brought into new bill form.

The bills passed include various development authorities bills, Shilpakala Academy (Amendment) Bill, Forest Industries Development Corporation Bill, Wildlife Conservation and Safety Bill, Deposit Protection Bill, Bangladesh Bank (Amendment) Bill, Cyber ​​Security Bill, National Database Management Bill, Prevention of Violence against Women and Children (Amendment) Bill and July Fighters Welfare and Rehabilitation Bill.

In addition, the Speaker accepted three amendments proposed by government party member Anisur Rahman on the ‘July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum Bill, 2026’. Later, the bill was passed in its amended form.

Towards the end of the day, Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain moved a motion to pass the 'Control of Smoking and Use of Tobacco Products (Amendment) Bill, 2026', which was passed by voice vote.
