Trade Fair concludes today
Today marks the final day of the 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair, with a closing ceremony on Friday (January 31).
Despite calls from vendors to extend the fair for another day, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), the event's organizer, decided not to grant an extension this year.
The fair was inaugurated on January 1 by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BBCFEC) in Purbachal.
From 1995 to 2020, the fair was held in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar under the joint initiative of the Ministry of Commerce and EPB, aiming to promote domestic products.
The fair returned to BBCFEC in Purbachal under pandemic restrictions.
The organizing authorities have announced that the final sales details of the fair will be revealed during the closing ceremony.
In addition to showcasing domestic products, countries such as India, Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Singapore participated in the fair.
Special areas such as 'July Square' and 'Chatrish Square' were created to honor the sacrifices made during the student movement against discrimination. A youth pavilion was also set up to encourage young people to engage in export trade.
For the convenience of visitors, a technology corner and a seating area for senior citizens were established, along with a children's park for the entertainment of younger attendees.
