Trade via Benapole halted for 5 days
India has announced a five-day halt to import-export business at the Benapole land port starting October 9 in celebration of Durga Puja, the largest Hindu festival.
Confirming the matter today, Rashedul Sajib Nazir, deputy director of Benapole Port, said, "We received an official letter from India regarding the closure."
"Despite the suspension of import-export activities, passenger movement between the two countries will continue without interruption." he said.
However, normal trade activities will resume on Monday, October 14.
