Transport owners association directs not to park vehicles in lonely places

Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association has called for not parking vehicles on the roadside and in unsafe or lonely places to increase the security of vehicles and goods transportation in the current situation of the country. Emergency directives on this matter were given to transport owners and workers from the organisation’s side on Saturday.

In the directive given by the association’s secretary general Md Saiful Alam it has been said that after the end of daily movement no vehicle can be kept on the roadside or in unprotected places. All types of vehicles including buses and trucks must be kept under safe guard at their respective depots, designated garages or terminals.

The Transport Owners Association has informed that this directive has been given to avoid the risk of unwanted damage and vandalism to vehicles in the recent situation. Owners and workers at all levels of the country have been called upon to implement the matter with importance and remain maximally alert for the security of their respective vehicles.

From the organisation’s side it has been said that not only owners but also drivers and transport workers will have to take extra caution in the case of vehicle parking. Concerned persons have been called upon to ensure shifting the vehicles to safe places after the end of the day’s activities.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has informed of taking special measures to strengthen security in the capital. In a message on Saturday the agency informed that search checkpoints have been set up at the entry points of Dhaka as well as various important areas.

DMP has informed that the surveillance of law enforcement agencies has been increased at the important installations and entry points of the city. At the same time necessary security measures are being taken considering the situation.
