A Dhaka court on Tuesday issued a travel ban on Gazi Hafizur Rahman Liku, former assistant private secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, and his wife Rahima Akter in connection with corruption allegations against them. Judge Mohammed Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain of the Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court in Dhaka passed the order following an application submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Amir Hossain, an ACC official working in the court confirmed the development to the media. ACC Public Prosecutor Rezaul Karim Reza moved the application, which cited the need for the ban to prevent the couple from leaving the country while an inquiry into the allegations was underway.

সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার সাবেক সহকারী একান্ত সচিব (এপিএস) গাজী হাফিজুর রহমান লিকু ও তার স্ত্রী রহিমা আক্তারের দেশত্যাগে নিষেধাজ্ঞা দিয়েছেন আদালত। সোমবার ঢাকা মহানগর দায়রা জজ মোহাম্মদ আসসামছ জগলুল হোসেনের আদালত দুদকের আবেদনের প্রেক্ষিতে শুনানি শেষে এ আদেশ দেন। দুদকের কোর্ট ইন্সপেক্টর আমির হোসেন এ তথ্য জানিয়েছেন। তিনি জানান, দুদকের আবেদনের পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে আদালত এই নিষেধাজ্ঞা জারি করেছেন। দুদকের উপপরিচালক মো. আহসানুল কবীর পলাশ তাদের দেশত্যাগে নিষেধাজ্ঞা চেয়ে আবেদন করেন।
