A court has imposed a travel ban on Foysal Karim Masud, prime accused in the case filed over the killing of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, and his wife Shaheda Pervin Samia.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Shahjahan Kabir passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said an allegation is under investigation that Taka 127 crore was transacted through bank accounts of persons linked to the interests of Foysal Karim Masud.

"The investigation found through a reliable source that the persons concerned in the allegations might leave the country and flee abroad. Therefore, imposing a travel ban on them is essential in the interest of a fair investigation into the allegations," it added.
