Trial of crimes against humanity to proceed at normal pace: Law Minister
Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman has said that the trial of crimes against humanity related to the July Movement will continue at its normal pace.
He made the remarks while exchanging greetings with journalists in front of the Law Ministry at the Secretariat on Wednesday (February 18) on his first working day in office.
The minister said the dignity of those who sacrificed their lives during the July uprising to establish democracy would be preserved.
He added that the government would make its utmost efforts to strengthen democracy on a solid foundation in line with the aspirations of the uprising.
Md. Asaduzzaman also pledged to work tirelessly to fulfill the “mountain-high” expectations of the people.
Recalling those who lost their lives over the past 17 years in the struggle to protect democracy and establish justice, he said their sacrifices would guide his work, acknowledging that significant challenges remain ahead.
