Tribunal’s verdict will be executed regardless of outcome: Home Adviser
The verdict of the International Crimes Tribunal in the ongoing case against Sheikh Hasina for crimes against humanity will be executed regardless of its outcome, said Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
He also said the law-enforcement agencies are ready to prevent any kind of unrest in the country.
He made the remarks on Sunday, November 16, while responding to various questions from journalists after a meeting with top officials of the law-enforcement agencies and field administration in Barishal.
The Home Affairs Adviser further said, “Instructions have been given to the field administration to take all necessary preparations to make the upcoming national parliamentary election free, fair and festive.”
Saying that everyone in the country is now election-oriented, he sought cooperation from all. He said the law-and-order situation is not very good, nor very bad, and described the overall situation as moderately satisfactory.
