Two Ad-Din Hospital staff sacked over clash with journalists
Ad-Din Medical College Hospital authorities have temporarily relieved two staff members following an unfortunate incident involving journalists who had arrived at the hospital over the death of six newborns.
The information was provided in a press release sent by Tarikul Islam Mukul, HR and Company Affairs Director of Ad-Din Foundation, on Saturday, June 6.
According to the release, after the health minister and senior officials left the hospital on May 30, a large number of journalists attempted to enter the hospital. When authorities tried to control their entry in the interest of patients, a journalist referred to a hospital cleaning staff member using a derogatory term. The staff felt insulted and became agitated, requesting the journalists to leave the hospital. Senior hospital authorities present at the scene tried to calm the staff.
The hospital authorities expressed regret following the incident and ordered an investigation. After the investigation, two staff members were found guilty and temporarily relieved. Their identities have been withheld in the interest of their social dignity.
