Two Assistant Attorneys General step down from post
Two Assistant Attorneys General have submitted their resignations, citing personal reasons.
The resignation letters were sent to the President through the Attorney General’s Office on Thursday (April 2).
The officials are Md. Mujahidul Islam and Ahmad Musanna Chowdhury.
A source at the Attorney General’s Office confirmed that the resignations have been received.
Both were appointed as Assistant Attorneys General on August 28, 2024, during the tenure of the interim government and had been serving in the role since then.
The development comes shortly after newly appointed Attorney General Md. Ruhul Quddus initiated performance evaluation tests for law officers.
The assessments for Deputy Attorneys General were held on March 31, while those for Assistant Attorneys General took place on April 1 and 2.
Before the resignations, the Attorney General’s Office had a total of 230 Assistant Attorneys General and 103 Deputy Attorneys General.
