Two more children die with measles symptoms, 979 infected in a day

Two more children have died with measles symptoms in the country over the past 24 hours. During the same period, 979 new children were infected with measles or its symptoms. The Directorate General of Health Services released the updated report on Tuesday, August 11.

The report said while two children died with measles symptoms in the past day, no deaths were confirmed from measles itself. Among the new cases, both confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms were reported.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, the number of deaths with measles symptoms from March 15 to August 11 stands at 782. During the same period, another 98 children died after being confirmed with measles.

In total, from March 15 to date, the number of deaths from measles and measles symptoms in the country stands at 880. Of these, 98 were confirmed measles deaths and 782 were deaths with measles symptoms.
