Two more dengue deaths, 988 hospitalised in 24 hours
Two more people have died from dengue in the last 24 hours, while 988 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period.
The information was provided in a dengue update from the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Saturday, September 5.
Among the newly hospitalised patients, 427 were in Dhaka division, 50 in Mymensingh, 123 in Chattogram, 163 in Khulna, 170 in Barishal, 49 in Rajshahi, and six in Rangpur division.
As of September 5 this year, a total of 41,032 dengue patients have been hospitalised across the country, with 113 deaths reported during this period.
Meanwhile, 986 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours. So far this year, a total of 38,179 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged after treatment.
In 2025, a total of 102,861 dengue patients were hospitalised from January 1 to December 31, with 413 deaths recorded that year.
