Two more die from measles in 24 hours, 1377 new cases
Two more people have died from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the latest report from the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday, May 31.
The deaths occurred in Dhaka and Barishal divisions. A total of 1,377 new cases were recorded during the same period, of which 53 were confirmed through laboratory tests and 1,324 showed measles-like symptoms.
According to DGHS data, a total of 585 children have died from confirmed measles and suspected symptoms since March 15. Of these, 90 died from confirmed measles, while 495 died from measles-like symptoms.
A total of 70,936 children have shown measles-like symptoms since March 15, of whom 9,049 have been confirmed through laboratory tests. A total of 56,886 suspected measles patients have been hospitalised, with 52,841 recovering and returning home.
