UK sends back 15 Bangladeshis for immigration violations
The UK government has deported 15 Bangladeshis for violating immigration laws, sending them back on a special charter flight on Friday.
According to diplomatic sources, flight HFM851 departed from London’s Stansted Airport at 9 PM local time on Thursday, with a stopover in Islamabad, before arriving in Dhaka at 2:10 PM on Friday.
The consular section of the Bangladesh High Commission confirmed that travel permits were issued for the returnees. Among them, some held valid passports while others had expired documents. The group included both men and women.
The passengers primarily hail from Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar, Cumilla, Brahmanbaria, Chattogram, Noakhali, and various districts in Dhaka. Records show that at least six of the deportees had no listed occupation, while others were employed as waiters or were students in the UK.
The UK immigration authorities have recently intensified measures against illegal immigrants. This deportation process was carried out in coordination with the Government of Bangladesh.
A Ministry of Foreign Affairs official told the media, “Many Bangladeshis overstay their visas and remain illegally in the UK. The UK is enforcing its immigration laws, and deportations are part of this enforcement.”
