Umama Fatima, the vice-president (VP) candidate of the Independent Students' Unity Panel in the DUCSU elections, said that she is optimistic about winning the election.

Umama Fatima said: "We are getting a good response from the voters. Students are casting votes with interest. I am optimistic about winning."

However, when asked which hall she expects the most votes from, she did not clarify anything and said that the calculation has not been received yet.

She said this while talking to reporters in front of the Udayan School and College Center around 10:30am on Tuesday (September 9).

At the time, she said: "We want the election to be conducted properly and we want the results accordingly."

Long queue of voters have been seen since morning in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections. Students are voting in a festive atmosphere in every hall, including the TSC polling center.

Voting began at 8 am on Tuesday (September 9) and will continue until 4 pm.
