Poet and intellectual Farhad Mazhar has claimed the recent regime change in Bangladesh was designed by the United States.

He expressed this view during a discussion meeting held by the National Ulama Alliance, an organization supported by the NCP, at the Bangladesh Bhaban of the Institution of Diploma Engineers in Kakrail on Tuesday, May 12.

As a special guest at the event, Farhad Mazhar stated that the political transformation occurring in Bangladesh is fundamentally a 'regime change' orchestrated by the US.

He emphasized that the genuine authority in the nation has not yet been transferred to the populace or political entities.

Mazhar remarked that the US has indeed facilitated this regime change in Bangladesh. "Consequently, they are now in control. None of you hold power. A greater peril lies ahead."

He further noted that there exists a significant disparity between apparent power and actual power in the current political landscape of the country. Political and ideological groups must remain vigilant to confront future challenges.

The meeting was chaired by Maulana Ashraf Uddin Mahdi, the convener of the National Ulama Alliance. Other participants included Maulana Ahmed Ali Qasemi, Nayeb-e-Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh and Khilafat Majlis, Sarjis Alam, chief organizer for the northern region of NCP, joint convener Sarwar Tushar, Maulana Musa Al Hafiz, and Maulana Sanaullah Khan, member secretary of NUA.

Farhad Mazhar's remarks have ignited extensive discussions on social media. Numerous political analysts believe that his statements will foster a renewed dialogue regarding the country's current geopolitical stance and international influence.
