Unveiling of 'Green Barta'
Green Concerns Foundation is working to raise public awareness about environmental conservation and combating the impacts of climate change. As part of these efforts, a special edition of the foundation's publication, 'Green Barta', has been released on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The unveiling ceremony took place on Wednesday afternoon at the foundation's office on Pioneer Road in Kakrail, Dhaka.
Speaking at the event, the guests noted that Bangladesh, along with the rest of the world, is facing an environmental crisis. Everyone must work together to stand against this calamity. Although it is a challenging task, tackling this challenge is the objective of the Green Concerns Foundation, and they aim to move forward toward that goal.
In his presidential address, Md. Mozibur Rahman, President of Green Concerns Foundation and prominent lawyer, stated that raising awareness among the youth regarding environmental conservation and climate change risks is a need of the hour. "'Green Barta' is not just a publication; it is a commitment to building a livable and green planet. The magazine will play a vital role in presenting eco-friendly lifestyles and sustainable development concepts simply to the general public," he said.
Ranzit Sarker, Secretary of the Foundation and Editor of 'Green Barta', said that 'Green Barta' is the fruit of long-term hard work, research, and commitment to the environment. Its primary goals are to raise environmental awareness, encourage tree planting, educate people about climate change impacts, and introduce eco-friendly green technology concepts to the public.
He added, "Particularly, 'Green Barta' will play a key role in involving the younger generation in environmental protection activities. The Green Concerns Foundation will continue to work consistently to increase public engagement in building a sustainable and green future."
Also present at the event were Supreme Court Advocates A. F. M. Asaduzzaman, Nilanjana Rifat (Surovi), Advocate Fakhrul Bahar Saki, Foundation Vice-President Md. Akbar Ali, Treasurer Saidur Rahman, and poets Soumya Salek, among others.
