US Embassy mourns Hadi's death

The US Embassy in Dhaka has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Inqilab Mancha spokesman Sharif Osman Hadi.

In a condolence message on Friday (December 19), the US Embassy said that the US Embassy stands with the people of Bangladesh and expresses deep sorrow over the death of young leader Sharif Osman Hadi. At the same time, sincere condolences are extended to his family, friends and supporters.

Sharif Osman Hadi breathed his last at 9:45pm on Thursday (December 18) while undergoing treatment in Singapore after being shot.

Earlier, on December 12, the day after the announcement of the schedule for the 13th National Assembly elections and referendum, he was shot in the head on Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan, Dhaka. He was taken to Singapore for advanced treatment in his injured condition.

Sharif Osman Hadi was a potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency. He was known as a frontline fighter in the July Uprising and a spokesperson for the Inqilab platform.
