“Usha... Don’t leave me, my child”
Eleven-year-old Noori Jannat Usha, injured in the tragic plane crash at the Milestone School and College campus, has been admitted to the CCU of the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. Ten percent of her body has been burned.
Outside the CCU, usha’s mother, Ayesha Akhter, was inconsolable. Crying out in anguish, she said, "My little girl's body is burned, she’s writhing in pain. So much blood is pouring from my baby. What am I supposed to do...? Usha, don’t leave me, my child. If you're not here, I don’t want to live either. Oh Allah, please save my daughter."
She continued, "Except for the school building, most of the area around there is empty—there are three fields and a big lake nearby. With all that space, why did the plane crash into the one school building? I demand justice. So many mothers have lost their children today. These were just little children... Oh, my heart. Whom do we seek justice from?"
By 6 PM on Monday, a total of 72 burned children had been brought to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute for treatment following the crash of an F-7 BGI training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force into the Milestone School and College campus in Diabari.
