Verdict date for case against Sheikh Hasina set for Nov 13

The International Crimes Tribunal-1 will announce the verdict date in the case against Sheikh Hasina and three others over alleged crimes during the July uprising on November 13.

The three-member tribunal, led by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Mazumder, concluded the presentation of arguments and fixed the date on Thursday (October 23). Other members are Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Justice Md. Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.

The other accused are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan and ex-IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, the latter of whom admitted guilt and became an approver.

Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman and Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam sought the maximum punishment for Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan. The defense requested acquittal, with tribunal allowing limited final remarks.

Later, the tribunal confirmed the verdict date will be disclosed on November 13.
