The International Crimes Tribunal-1 is set to deliver its verdict on Tuesday (January 20), in the Chankharpul killing case, in which six people were shot dead during the July Uprising in Dhaka.
The entire proceedings will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television (BTV).
Prosecutor Gazi M.H. Tamim confirmed that the tribunal, chaired by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, will pronounce the judgment against eight accused, including former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman.
The date for the verdict was fixed on December 24, 2025, following arguments from both the prosecution and defense. Defense lawyers presented arguments for the arrested and absconding accused, while prosecutors Mizanul Islam, Shahidul Islam, and Abdullah Al Noman countered them.
